Notes from Monte: "For a while, the northern stretch was popular with traffic shuttling from I-94 to US 10 in order to travel to the Detroit Lakes resort area. With the advent of the 65 mph speed limit on US 10, I suspect this function is a thing of the past. From Glenwood to Wadena MN 29 was one of the original 1920 constitutional routes. The MN 29 designation was later extended south to Montevideo over what was MN 38."
