Miscellaneous Interstate Highway Scenes in Mississippi

Southbound on I-55 at the exit to MS 27.  This also marks the south end of the I-55/US 51 duplex that begins in Jackson.
Another older-style Interstate shield with the state name, this one in Laurel.
Yes.  That's right.  The actual speed limit is 40 MPH in the area of the "S-curve".  Otherwise, it's 50 MPH through the middle of Laurel.  Note the green sign gantry at the exit ramp.
Overhead wire sign warning about the 40 MPH "S-curve" on I-59 in Laurel.  There is a proposal to straighten out the curve currently undergoing study.
It's not often you find a stoplight at the end of a rural exit ramp, but evidentally traffic counts warranted it here.  This is southbound I-59 at the MS 29/MS 588 exit near Ellisville, between Laurel and Hattiesburg.
Not an Interstate highway scene, per se, but an interesting item.  This homemade I-59 shield was spotted outside Lumberton as one re-entered the "real world" from a Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) event.  Photo by David Backlin, taken in March, 2006.
