Interstate 90 in Wisconsin

The photos on this page are from a trip along westbound I-90 through the state of Wisconsin, including duplexes with I-94 and what was then a brand new I-39 extension before it was fully signed.  All photos were taken by the webmaster.  Unless otherwise noted, all photos were taken in December, 2001.

Overhead guide signs on I-39/90 at the interchange with US 12/US 18 (Madison Beltline).
Overhead diagrammatic approaching the interchange with I-94 East and WI 30.
Exit to I-94 East, just past the left exit to WI 30.  The exit gore sign for the WI 30 exit is in the lower left of the image.
One of the last vestiges of a time before "I-39 Mania" swept the Midwest.  These I-90/I-94 reassurance shields were posted just north of Madison, WI.  Nowadays, the shield set includes an I-39 shield as well.  Photo taken December 12, 1998.
Another overhead diagrammatic, this time approaching where I-39 splits off from westbound I-90/I-94.  Note the I-90 shield about to fall off.
Westbound I-90/I-94 split near Tomah.  The two routes will not meet again until I-94 ends at I-90 near Billings, MT.
Westbound reassurance shield, including the state name.  This was west of Tomah.
This guide sign, near LaCrosse, is for the first exit in Minnesota on westbound I-90.  It includes a "sign goof", in that the "WI 61" shield should be a US 61 shield instead.  This sign goof still existed in June, 2004.
