Burnsville, MN to Columbus, MN via Minneapolis

Background:

This is my fantasy upgrade of I-35W through the Minneapolis side of the Twin Cities metropolitan area.

The main differences are additional lanes along most of I-35W, the addition of three fantasy interchanges at MN 280 (near 28th St in Minneapolis), I-335, and what was proposed as a MN 65 freeway branching from today's Johnson St exit, and including county route shields at several interchanges that are lacking them in real life.

Basic Roadway Configuration:

• 6-lane freeway with occasional auxiliary lanes from I-35/I-35E to MN 13.
• 8-lane freeway with occasional auxiliary lanes from MN 13 to I-494/MN 5.
• 6-lane freeway through I-494/MN 5 interchange
• 8-lane freeway from I-494/MN 5 to MN 62 WEST.
• 6-lane freeway through I-35W/MN 62 commons area.
• 10-lane freeway with occasional auxiliary lanes from MN 62 EAST to I-94 WEST/MN 165.
• 6-lane freeway through I-35W/I-94 commons area.
• 10-lane freeway from I-94/MN 55 EAST to I-335.
• 8-lane freeway with occasional auxiliary lanes from I-335 to I-694.
• 10-lane freeway from I-694 to US 10 EAST.
• 12-lane freeway from US 10 EAST to US 10 WEST.
• 8-lane freeway from US 10 WEST to Anoka CSAH 17.
• 6-lane freeway from Anoka CSAH 17 to MN 242.
• 4-lane freeway from MN 242 to I-35/I-35E.
