Western Terminus

The interchange at US 10, west end of MN 242, was reconstructed in the late 1990s, with MN 242 widened to 6 lanes (from a 2-3 lane road), and the slip ramps of the old interchange replaced with a standard diamond.  Photo by Monte Castleman, taken May, 2002.

First eastbound reassurance shield.  It's not normal for MnDOT to post standalone 3-digit-size shields for state routes.  Photo by Monte Castleman, taken August, 2002.

Eastern Terminus

The rainy east end of MN 242 in Blaine.  MN 242 will likely be extended east in coming years along the NHS section of Anoka CSAH 14 (one of the few NHS county highways in Minnesota).  Photo by Don Greiskalns.
