Froggie's Notes:
- Mississippi's only even
3-digit Interstate, I-220 serves as a partial northwest bypass of the main
Jackson area. It also serves one of the principal industrial areas in the
Jackson metro, and as a result truck traffic is fairly heavy.
- A new interchange was recently built at Industrial Dr in order to better serve
the industrial area.
Froggie Suggests:
- Widen to 6 lanes plus some auxiliary lanes.
- Consider the feasibility of extending I-220 in both directions, south to I-55
near Byram and east to I-20 near Brandon, to provide a 270-degree loop around
Jackson.
- Interchange improvements and ramp additions as needed.
