Notes:
This route originally used to be MS 55, but was renumbered to avoid duplication with I-55.  This route also originally ran east and intersected with MS 15 in D'Iberville, instead of its current terminus at I-10.

MDOT has bigger plans for MS 67.  Their plan is to straighten it out and widen it to 4-lanes, to help accommodate through traffic between US 49 and Biloxi.  Currently traffic to/from US 49 and Biloxi has to take US 90 or I-10 between Biloxi and Gulfport to make the connection.  With traffic volumes on both routes well over 40,000 ADT and no end in sight, it appears that this MS 67 upgrade is hoped to take some of the pressure off.  The first contracts will be let in late 2001.
