Overview:

The Corsica is the first of Denabi Aerospace's Armed Jumpships, a Jumpship constructed with an advanced Light K-F Drive Core.  Although driving cost up, the lower weight of the Light K-F Drive Core allows Jumpships to mount more armor, weaponry, and equipment.

The Corsica is a fighter-carrier of sorts, carrying two wings of aerospace fighters, with the primary mission being to hold a jump point against enemy vessels, as well as escort duty for convoys.  The concept is not unlike the Clans' Comitatus, although the Corsica carries far more in the way of armor, fighters, and battlearmor.  The Corsica carries a full company of battlearmored marines, along with 6 small craft, for boarding operations.  Advanced missile and experimental X-pulse laser systems provide some defense, while small lasers provide point defense.

The Corsica has already made a reputation for itself.  The FCS Corsica, on its maiden voyage, was escorting a cargo convoy in the outer fringes of the Draconis March.  As the point vessel, the Corsica would jump into a system first, followed by the rest of the convoy.  Jumping into an uninhabited system along the followed trade route, the Corsica discovered a group of pirate ships lying in ambush.  The 36 fighters and the 2 assault Dropships carried quickly made short work of the pirate ships, however, while the battlearmor troops successfully boarded and captured a pirate Union.
