The south end of MN 253 occurs at this intersection, at the east edge of the town of Bricelyn. Bricelyn and nearby Frost (home to the south end of MN 254) have both seen better days; probably some combination of the decline of farming, the decline of the railroad, distance from the interstate, the Walmart in Blue Earth, and the complete lack of tourism.
