Western Terminus
MN 290 is a short route serving the Ah-Gwah-Ching Center, a state run nursing home just south of Walker. This was originally the state turburculosis sanatarium; the name Ah-Gwah-Ching is Ojibway for "outside" referring to the practice of giving patients fresh air. This is what appears to be the west end. Photo by Monte Castleman, taken May, 2002. |
Eastern Terminus
The intersection with MN 200/MN 371. According to Monte, there are no MN 290 shields posted, although I recall a MN 290 trailblazer on MN 200/371 back in the early '90s. Photo by Monte Castleman, taken May, 2002. |
