I-259 is my idea for a southern Meridian, MS bypass for I-20 and I-59 traffic.  The "Meridian South Bypass" idea has floated on-and-off since the early 1960s, most recently in 2002 as an alternative to widening I-20/59 through Meridian.  While actual construction is still a remote possibility, there are significant funding, environmental, and need issues that would have to be worked out first.
