Fall Foliage 2004

These photos are from a daytrip I took to the Blue Ridge west of Charlottesville, VA in late October, 2004.  The Blue Ridge in this area was a little past peak, but there was still some good color to view.  All of these photos were taken by the webmaster on October 30, 2004.

Outbound Trip

These first two photos are from along westbound US 60 between Toano and Providence Forge.  The leaves were just beginning to change color in this area.

These two views are along westbound I-64 through the northwestern Richmond suburbs.

West of Richmond, towards Charlottesville, color started becoming more pronounced.

Three views along westbound I-64 near Charlottesville.

These last two I-64 views are looking uphill at Afton Mountain.

Staunton and Other Views

As a side trip to my hike along the Appalachian Trail, I swung into and through the city of Staunton  These five photographs were taken in the middle of the city.
This shot is along eastbound US 250 while climbing up Afton Mountain from the city of Waynesboro.

Two images from Afton Overlook, located on the Blue Ridge Parkway a little south of US 250.
