Eastern Terminus
This photo looks at the eastern terminus at the St. Croix River and Wisconsin state line. St. Croix is one of the oldest European names in Minnesota, dating from the late 1600s. St. Croix means "holy cross", and refers to a cross erected at the mouth of the river on the grave of some early french fur trader or explorer. Photo by Monte Castleman, taken May, 2002. |
