Fictional Syracuse Freeway System

This collection of pages details out my "ultimate (and VERY fictional) freeway/expressway system" for Syracuse, NY and nearby parts of Onondaga County. The links immediately below are for new freeway/expressway routes, many of which were proposed at one point in real life but were never built, while the remainder of the page below details "fictional changes" to the existing highway network.

Besides the Fictional Freeways linked above, there are a number of already existing freeways which would see changes under my "ultimate freeway/expressway system". Following is a listing of fictional changes to existing freeways and major highways around Syracuse by route, including routing changes and truncations, plus links to virtual cruises and exit lists (some still under development).

Roadway Changes:

6 lanes from US 11/NY 41/NY 281 near Homer to US 11 at Nedrow.
8 lanes from US 11 at Nedrow to Exit 16A (I-481).
An expanded 3/4 directional interchange at I-481 to accommodate Fictional NY 815. No ramps from SB I-81 to NB NY 815 or SB NY 815 to NB I-81.
8 lanes from I-481/Fictional NY 815 to Adams St.
6 through lanes on the viaduct between Adams St and I-690.
6 through lanes through the I-690 interchange.
8 through lanes from the I-690 East ramps to NY 370.
Direct EZ-PASS ONLY ramps from WB and EB I-90 to NB I-81 and from SB I-81 to EB I-90.
Flyover ramps from NB I-81 to NB NY 481 and SB I-81 to SB I-481.

Rerouted to continue along S. Salina St through downtown Syracuse instead of the existing Reynor Ave/State St routing.
Rerouted onto Hiawatha Blvd and fictional connector to Wolf St.

Roadway Changes:

4 lane urban arterial from NY 5 in Auburn to the eastern Auburn limits.
4 lane expressway from the eastern Auburn limits to the western Skaneateles limits.
4 lane urban arterial from the western Skaneateles limits to NY 175.

Roadway Changes:

Half-interchange to from I-90 East, just east of Jordan, to accommodate Fictional NY 31.
4 lane expressway from Fictional NY 31 in Clay to the western edge of Cicero.
4 lane urban arterial through central Cicero.
4 lane expressway from near I-81 to Lakeshore Rd.

Extended along US 20 and Jordan St in Skaneateles, Jordan Rd from Skaneateles to Long Bridge, Vinegar Hill Rd from Long Bridge to Elbridge, Jordan Rd from Elbridge to Jordan, and Elbridge St and Main St in Jordan to NY 31.

Routing Changes:

Rerouted onto Existing NY 5 from Fictional NY 5 at West St to existing NY 5/NY 92 junction in DeWitt.
Rerouted east of I-481 as per Fictional NY 92.
Existing NY 92 between US 11 and existing NY 5/NY 92 junction in DeWitt turned back to city/county.
Existing NY 5/NY 92 duplex eliminated.
Existing NY 92 between I-481 and NY 257 turned back to county.
Existing NY 92 between NY 257 and NY 173 becomes NY 257.

New freeway bypass of Fulton, with interchanges at Existing NY 481 east of CR 57, at NY 3, and a half-interchange to/from the north near Van Buren Dr.
4-lane expressway from the fictional Fulton freeway bypass to the start of the 4-lane expressway north of Fulton.
4-lane arterial from the end of the 4-lane expressway south of Oswego to NY 104 in Oswego.
